Let me help you!

7 days to go...another significant turn for the history of our country is going to happen...who will you vote for?

Will you be basing your votes to "survey" results or still stand by your preferred candidate even if they are not at the top of these so-called surveys?

Last presidential elections, I voted for Bro. Eddie Villanueva, I know he's not at the top of those surveys before but I still voted for him, he didn't win but I believed in him. At that time I thought that I will still vote for him if he'd run again for the presidency, and so he did. But this time Richard Gordon came into the picture, got myself confused. I'm only human!

Richard Gordon, Eddie Villanueva, Gilbert Teodoro, Nicanor Perlas, and J.C. Delos Reyes are the lesser evils among the presidential candidates. You have to admit it...they really are! But among these lesser evils I have picked my president based on experience and achievements. And so I am voting for Richard Gordon!

I was there when Bagumbayan Gordon-Bayani held their kick-off campaign rally at Imus, Cavite...(for photos, click here). First time I've heard their platform, I already believed that they can do it...Why? Because they have concrete solutions and results-proven track records, unlike the other candidates who will promise a lot of things but try to ask them the step by step process on how to achieve what they are promising you'll get confused with their answers. There is a solution from Gordon, all we need is cooperation. "Bawal ang tamad at bawal ang tanga."

Once, my husband told me, "kapag nanalo si Villar o si Noynoy umalis na tayo dito sa Pilipinas..." then I said, "kapag nanalo si Gordon, may pag-asa pa ang Pilipinas!"

I believe in Gordon, I do not believe in surveys. Stop this sick mentality of "kulelat sa survey yan, sayang lang ang boto ko..." If you want change, then it should start with you. I believe that we will experience a BETTER TOMORROW if we vote for Richard Gordon on May 10, 2010! Come to think of it, what this picture says is true.

No question about it, Ninoy Aquino truly is a hero of the Filipino people. His influence still lives inside every one of us, we stand up for what we know is right and we fight against the injustices that we see around us. His own life proved that he is worthy to be called a hero. OUR HERO.

I have nothing against Cory Aquino being called a heroine because she saved us from our dying hope for our country after the Marcos regime. But for me, her lack of experience in the public office, more over as a President of the nation, became one of the reasons why until now we are still drowning in billions of dollars of debt for how many decades now...again, one of the reasons...don't misinterpret what I am saying here.

Now, going back to the reason why I'm writing this blog, Noynoy Aquino is indeed a free rider. He's just lucky because of his name and the family that he was born into, but his political records show that he is not fit to become the next president, in fact he has done nothing that's very significant or even worthy to be mentioned in his years of being a public servant. Yeah, I know what you'll gonna say...that he must have done something, maybe some little things that I am not aware of. Then by all means...SHOW ME! I'm not very fond of people who talks and talks but really, they're just borrowing the strong words of their parents. He can't even figure out a way to solve their family's issues regarding Hacienda Luisita, what more of our national problems? He knows what to say, but the question still remains, DOES HE KNOW WHAT TO DO?

And so I'll end this blog by posting another image, again from the same source...

"Why pay money to have your family tree traced; go into politics and your opponents will do it for you." ~Author Unknown

The Annoying Orange of the Philippines

This will be the first of my political blog series...so please bear with me. :)

Last week I saw a tweet from one of my twitter friends (poljeffrey), twas a link on YouTube about the "annoying orange", and it's actually very funny! I know this kind of humor doesn't appeal to everyone but sometimes you just need some stupid puns to make you laugh and forget about your everyday problems. ;)

So there I was, watching all the videos uploaded by the lovable annoying orange when this advertisement popped out... Lo and behold! A political campaign advertisement on YouTube! From who? From the annoying orange of the Philippines! LOL Yes, it was Manny Villar's political ad! And yes, his campaign ads really annoy me that much since I saw and heard his first political ad up to his newest TV commercials, noon-time TV program insertions and radio jingles. I wanna curse that orange color because of him! Arrrgh!

Can somebody please explain this to me, how a man who claims that he isn't corrupt like everybody else (despite the Senatorial hearings about the so-called C-5 controversy, etc) and oh-so-filthy rich (despite claiming he grew up in a poor family *still skeptical*) will not try to gain back his expenses or his sponsors' investments on his campaigns? Once he got elected as president of the Philippines (please, God, no!) can he really promise with pristine conscience that he will not make any kind of effort to take his money back or even let those who sponsored his campaigns gain his approvals (or signatures), or even give them political pardons or key positions to the government offices? Oh come on...

Did you know that Manny Villar's political ads exceeded Pres. Arroyo's while she was running for office back in 2003? ABS-CBN made a computation, you can read all about it here: http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/nation/03/17/10/villar-has-11-times-more-ads-gma-pre-election-year

Now, this is the point where I will show you this pop up political ad of Manny Villar from the annoying orange's YouTube channel:

Now, which one of them is the real annoying orange? The one on your left or the one on the right? Your call! LOL :P

Update:
I've read this article about Manny Villar's awesome claims in his campaign advertisements. The news are supposedly casting the light upon certain issues but behind the news is a dark shadow much larger than the light...

Some examples:

The SONA - SO NOT!!!

I admit, I didn't watch the SONA held last Monday, July 28, 2008...Why? Because I seriously think that it's just all BS!!! The "good news" presented in it are all polished to make it shiny so that the Filipino people will be dazzled by it and somehow forget the reality behind it all!

I can't blame those people who went out on the streets to protest against the SONA, they are only a FEW of the people who wants to see the REAL SONA and not the polished ones. I can't help but laugh when a news report was done about the certain neighbors of the President who themselves didn't listen to the SONA.

For more reports about the SONA, click these links below:
http://www.gmanews.tv/story/109902/SONA-2008-significance
http://www.gmanews.tv/story/109901/SONA-2008-Surveys-say

RAMPANT CHILD ABUSE

As defined, CHILD ABUSE - physical, sexual, or emotional maltreatment or neglect of children by parents, guardians, or others responsible for a child's welfare.

What would you do when you learned that your own relative to whom you gave your trust to take good care of your children while you are away will be the one who will hurt them and abuse them? I can't think of any good words to come out of my mouth when I saw this news about the 7yr old girl that was beaten to almost death by her own grandmother! OMG, what has happened to this people?

And I can't help but think why two of these news about physical child abuse came from this province of Cavite! I know that CAVITEÑOs are known for their valour during the Spanish era...but can't they just use their bravery to defend the young and not use their strength to abuse them?!

And how about the rampant leaving of fetuses and babies? There was this news about a fetus left inside a fruit basket in front of the church altar! And those babies that are left to die in the garbage dumps or canals, and the one that was thrown out of the Taxi window! How can you deal with these kind of news? Though it's so depressing, I just keep in mind that it's better for them to die now than to die in the hands of the unworthy people! And to those parents of those fetuses and babies that were left behind, MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOULS!

OIL PRICE HIKE

It's like we're all drowning now in this big puddle of quick sand where every week news about another oil price hike is what you can hear! More and more Filipinos now are not using their cars anymore and are now commuting just to save their hard earned money! Though this maybe good for the environment, you know less emission of poluting carbon monoxide, still the fact remains, an oil price hike means higher transportation expenses since the transport groups want higher fares just to at least have an extra more income for their families! And also, higher transportation costs means higher prices of the basic neccessities of man, especially FOOD!

Edited: January 5, 2009
I saw this feature on Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho in GMA 7 about this invention of using old cooking oil as an alternative fuel. Just like what Japan had been doing! This is a great start. They should develop this and it will definitely help the fuel crisis and it help the environment!

Also there's another alternative source of fuel, it is the use of LPG, and it is now widely used among taxis and tricycles here in the Philippines. Good job!

NATIONWIDE RICE SHORTAGE

Oh, come on now! Is it not that the Philippines used to be one of the top rice producers in the Asian Region? Then why are we having this kind of shortage? What happened to all of those rice fields that used to be producing high quality rice grains?

Oh, I know! Those rice fields have become endless lines of subdivisions and golf courses! I just wished that they could give those houses and land areas to the poor but NO! Those houses and golf courses are only for those who have more than the average income earners! And now, our contry is one of the top importers of rice! OMG!

How much is the cheapest rice today? Not including the NFA rice, you can buy the Php36-38 per kilo of rice BUT if you see the quality of the rice grains even the dogs wouldn't want to eat it! How long shall we endure this kind of torture?!

So much more to rant about...so little time! I can only pray that someone can do something to lessen the agony of the Filipinos...despite of it all, I still believe that "God will make a way when there seems to be no way" (quoting Don Moen).

Sources: http://www.gmanews.tv/

Funny Democracy And Government Quotes

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Another oil price hike?! This is now the nth time! Actually the 18th time this year that the oil companies here in the Philippines increased their prices of their fuel products. Last month, the per-liter price of unleaded gasoline ranged from P51.83 to P54.07 per liter; diesel at P44.30 per liter to P46.97 per liter; kerosene at P48.65 per liter to P52.30 per liter; and LPG ranging from P593 per 11-kilo to P639 per 11-kilo tank.[1]

Since then, fuel prices increased almost weekly! And now, news of increased prices of diesel and kerosene by P2 per liter, gasoline by P1 liter, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by P1.50 per kilogram[2] are bombarding the Filipino people. How much more can we take?! And according to recent news, the oil prices will still increase until August!

In 14 years, the inflation rate reached it's most high of 11.4 percent this year and is said to be the cause of all the price hike here in our country. High inflation rate means poor purchasing power for the consumers. With high cost of food products, rice products and transportation, how will the Filipino people survive living here in the Philippines?

According to Ms. Ellene Sana (Center for Migrants Advocacy's executive director), more and more Filipinos, documented and undocumented, are forced to work abroad just to earn a little higher than they earn here, and they are now forced to accept jobs that are more demeaning, jobs that even the locals from that foreign country don't even think about doing.[3]

Now, what can we do about this? Although we cannot do anything in a grander scale, maybe in our own little way, we can stop using our private vehicles for a while and just use public transport or maybe carpooling. Though rallies are organized by different transport and economic groups, results will be just miles away if we ourselves don't do anything about this. Let's do our part.

Source: [1] http://www.businessmirror.com.ph
[2] http://www.gmanews.tv/story/105271/
[3] http://www.gmanews.tv/story/105302/

The Case Of: The Unfinished Road Reconstruction

In a small barangay of Mambog inside the Municipality of Bacoor in Cavite, a government project of road reconstruction using asphalt inside a small subdivision had begun but not quite finished. This project is a collaboration of the Homeowners Association, Barangay Officials of this certain area and the Congressman of the 1st District of Cavite after the nationwide Local Elections.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_VgKbBoNnL2A/SFYrnRaWR2I/AAAAAAAAACg/naRHZF6ivmg/s320/DSC00029.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5212401572416735074" />

The project was supposedly cover the two street roads of Greenplain Village, the Apitong and Yakal streets. At first, the residents of this subdivision was pretty excited and were very proud that the winning barangay officials have planned that the street roads will be reconstructed, many have been awake early just to clean up the road to prepare for the laying of asphalt, but as the day went by the only road that was finished is the Apitong street and the Yakal street was never laid with asphalt. The government authorities said that they will be back the next weekend to finish the project but as we all know how the local government runs, nobody came back to finish the project!

Now, as you can see from the picture below, the Apitong street have this signage of the so-called finished project and if you look at it closely, the word "Yakal" was erased by a white paint. Then look at the budget alloted for this project, a huge amount to spend in finishing up only one street, right?!

The Signage
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_VgKbBoNnL2A/SEfncpNr_uI/AAAAAAAAABM/q0jQf_YNUSw/s320/signage+GP.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5208385973362884322" />

The Erased "Yakal"
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_VgKbBoNnL2A/SEfnypNr_vI/AAAAAAAAABU/XXEOdnHaQNY/s320/DSC00151.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5208386351320006386" />

The Finished Apitong Street
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_VgKbBoNnL2A/SEfoDpNr_wI/AAAAAAAAABc/43JjGA9Lfic/s320/DSC00152.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5208386643377782530" />

The Unfinished Yakal Street
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_VgKbBoNnL2A/SEfoUpNr_xI/AAAAAAAAABk/boQww9OiYCQ/s320/DSC00153.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5208386935435558674" />
